Looking for Vietnamese restaurants near you for pho, banh mi, bun cha and more? Here’s where to go for authentic Vietnamese food in Hong Kong.

If we’re talking Vietnamese restaurants in Hong Kong, you know we’ve got to share our bun cha favourite spots for a satisfying bowl of pho and places to pick up banh mi, but we also go beyond that (because there’s so much more to love!). This list spans the gamut from bia hoi bars serving Vietnamese street food and beer, to street-side Saigonese grill houses and upscale French-Vietnamese restaurants.

Vietnamese Restaurants Hong Kong, Vietnamese Food: BEP Kitchen

BEP Vietnamese Kitchen – Nah Trang Group-owned eatery serving homey Vietnamese food

While we were sad to say goodbye to BEP’s K11 MUSEA branch, we’re happy there are still posts in Central, Sheung Wan and Olympian City. This cool and casual Vietnamese restaurant always hits the spot with its soul-hugging bun rieu and tasty starters inspired by Ho Chi Minh City’s street-side cafes.

Nha Trang – Popular Vietnamese restaurant chain for lunch and dinner

With eight locations spotted around the city, you’re never too far from some delicious Vietnamese food. Vietnamese Restaurants Hong Kong, Vietnamese Food: Chom Chom

Chom Chom – Black Sheep’s lively Hanoi bia hoi bar in Soho

Chom Chom brings Vietnam’s convivial bia hoi tradition of sipping on cold beers on busy street corners to Soho’s Peel Street. The small yet mighty menu here is inspired by classic Hanoi street food – perfect for pairing with the bar’s wide selection of regional Vietnamese beers. The Pho Rolls and VFC Wings make great starters, and we can’t resist ordering the Shaking Beef whenever we go.

Vietnamese Restaurants Hong Kong, Vietnamese Food: Co Thanh

Co Thanh Restaurant – An ode to Vietnam’s The Lunch Lady

As an ode to Ho Chi Minh City’s Nyguen Thi Thanh (aka The Lunch Lady) – who gained global recognition after appearing on Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations” – her sole apprentice opened up Co Thanh to bring her recipes to the 852. While the banh mi and appetisers carry their own, it’s no surprise the soup noodles here really shine (that being The Lunch Lady’s main forte). You can’t go wrong with the Bun Bo Hue, and the Bun Nam is a popular choice for seafood lovers.

Vietnamese Restaurants Hong Kong, Vietnamese Food: Le Garcon Saigon

Le Garçon Saigon – Saigonese grill house in Wan Chai with a touch of Parisian chic

Savour the vibrant and fresh flavours of Saigon at this sophisticated Star Street eatery. The first thing you might notice is there isn’t any soup on the menu at Le Garçon Saigon (so don’t come here if you’re craving a bowl of pho!). But don’t worry; the Saigon-style grilled dishes here will not leave you wanting.

Sassy Tip: Pop by Le Garçon Saigon’s sister restaurant Le Petit Saigon next door to pick up a fresh banh mi to go.

Vietnamese Restaurants Hong Kong, Vietnamese Food: Bun Cha Vietnamese

Bun Cha Vietnamese Cafe – Authentic Vietnamese bun cha, pho and more

Bun Cha is our go-to spot when we’re hungry for a steaming bowl of pho. This place is not shy about its portions, so expect nothing less than a heaping pile of beef in your pho bo. On sweltering days, we’ll likely order a bun rice vermicelli and Iced VN Filter Coffee with condensed milk.

Sassy Tip: For something a little different to your regular beef pho, try the Pho Ha Noi, which is made with a light ginger broth.

We visited SAVVY to try out one of the new curated menus designed for celebrations, with Asian favourites to share, plus premium seafood and meat dishes grilled to perfection.

The best meal is one you can share! Savour a sharing menu at SAVVY Bar, Lounge and Restaurant this season — made specially for celebrations with friends and family, with an array of regional Asian dishes reimagined for a restaurant setting and fine delicacies hot off the grill.

Gather your loved ones in twos and fours for this gastronomic journey set at the vibrant and modern eatery. We did just that — follow us to Prince Hotel, Hong Kong to try out one of the newly unveiled sharing menus.

A bar, lounge and restaurant all in one, SAVVY spans more than 8,000 square feet on just one level, blending spaces to create the ideal dining destination (that seamlessly transitions from day to night!). You know that special occasion that’s coming up? It’s time to make a dinner booking for it!

The new menus are designed for groups of twos and fours, starting at just $795 for two — talk about indulgent yet affordable! We loved how authentic the dishes felt, with delectable bites that showcased a variety of Asian flavours, cooking techniques and star ingredients. Take the live Dalian abalone for example, which is considered the nation’s best variety of abalone!

On the menu for two, you’ll find salmon tartare, Thai pomelo salad, and a sizzling tandoor combo made in an Indian clay oven. The highlight? A succulent Australian wagyu M5 sirloin steak, paired with curly fries and a black truffle dip. (Don’t worry if you opt for the larger menu; this dish features on both!)

Go bigger when you choose the sharing menu for four — like we did! Priced at $1,580, delight in a diverse selection of culinary eats, with a lovely variety so that there’s something for everyone — whether it’s due to a dietary restriction or simply a matter of preference.

We love a good Indonesian satay and the crispy fried soft-shell crab (that comes here with a Vietnamese-style curry!) was highly Instagrammable. Other notable mentions include the delicate Japanese salmon poke, Javanese rojak and SAVVY’s signature aromatic syphon-style tom yum kung.

A quick favourite among the team, the broth was served via a brewer filled with spices, lemongrass and herbs by the Thai chef; which ensures that this glorious heartwarming bowl of hot and sour soup is full-bodied and truly flavourful. And the presentation is a little bit of a show in itself — you’ll love watching it get reheated with a blowtorch!

Each cuisine here is prepared by a chef with a wealth of experience in the region — an Indian chef created the vegetarian Indian thaali set (perfect for vegans too!)!

Asian flavours meet the grill with the Teppan Grill menu, a relishing selection of premium seafood and meat. Dishes on the grill menu include fresh whole Boston lobster, Hokkaido sashimi-grade scallop, a tender Kurobuta pork chop, Miyazakigyu A5 wagyu and more. We’re already planning our next visit…
